The Wireless Sensor Networks Lab sponsored by Pirelli and Telecom Italia has been established in June 2006 with the mission to research and develop Wireless Sensor Networks technologies that will enable new advanced products and services in various application domains such as automotive, building management, assisted living.

To accomplish its mission the Wireless Sensor Networks Lab partners with leading universities and companies to develop cutting-edge techologies in the following areas:

− Low Power Radios and Protocols
− Sensors
− Middleware Services
− Secure and Reliable Systems
− Distributed Signal Processing
− Applications: Health Care, Automotive, Building Management
